Amana Microwaves pass stringent new emissions test
Following recent worldwide general discussion regarding microwave ovens and interference with radio communications equipment (including WiFi and some medical equipment), Amana is delighted to annouce that its microwave ovens have been tested to, and conform with the much higher and more stringent ''level B'' EMC emissions testing.
The operating frequency of a microwave oven is 2450 megahertz which is very close to the operating frequencies of mobile and radio communication systems. It has been found that some microwave ovens can interrupt communication frequencies, resulting in EPOS till systems losing data, WiFi connections being lost, mobile phone signals dropping out and some medical equipment malfunctioning.
The normal EMC emissions testing requirement for commercial or industrial microwave ovens would only require the manufacturer to achieve 'level A'
To avoid such occurrences the Amana range of commercial microwave ovens have been tested to, and conform with the much higher and more stringent 'level B' EMC emissions testing.
By achieving the higher 'level B' test, Amana have ensured that their products produce minimal electromagnetic emissions, thereby reducing the possibility of interference with sensitive equipment and as such are the better choice for use in hospitals and other areas where higher EMC emissions would cause issues.
